Step 1

Add and mix 1 1/2 cups of flour, baking powder, yeast, egg and coconut milk into a bowl add them bit by bit to form a soft but firm dough 10-15mins

Step 2

Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat until a drop of water sizzles.

Step 3

Roll the dough on a flat surface and cut it into small shapes

Step 4

In a deep pan add oil and let it heat up then add the cut dough.

Step 5

Stir continuously till golden brown

Step 6

In another pan add sugar, water, cardamoms, vanilla essence and stir continuously till sticky.

Step 7

Add the cooked mitai

Step 8

Turn heat to medium/low and stir till the sugar crystalizes

Step 9

Serve with a beverage of your choice
